Covid-19 seems to cause a long lasting negative impact on brain function. This includes the effects of stress and anxiety due to the potential dangers of the pandemic or the effects of preventive measures such as social isolation. The virus itself can reach the brain and produces deleterious structural changes that are associated with impaired cognitive functions. This lecture will provide a biological underpinning of the Long Covid and will introduce ways of strengthen brain health during Covid-19 and potential subsequent pandemics.
