Biographical note
Dr Scott R Davis is an experienced CEO, Director and international development practice leader, having worked in complex cultural and political environments with resource poor communities in Australia, the Pacific, Asia and North Africa over the last 25 years. He has extensive technical skills and knowledge of public health, higher education and vocational training, capacity building models, regional sustainable development, governance and leadership, within community organisations, non‐government organisations, commercial entities, government and civil society.
Dr Davis is a value‐driven, multi‐disciplinary professional, committed to enabling sustainable economic and social development, to address the needs of the most disadvantaged within tropical societies and economies.
Dr Davis was awarded a PhD in social and economic development (capacity building) and a Masters in International Public Health from the University of Sydney. He is recognised as a thought leader who most recently has been influential in the Northern Australia Development agenda; in particular the role of Australia in the development of health and community services workforce training pipelines throughout the tropical economies.
Dr Davis has been a catalyst for political and policy changes to support innovation in the development of regional industries and communities by collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve tangible outcomes in enhancing inter‐governmental relations and translating research into practice.
In recognition of Dr Davis commitment to Australia rural communities he was invited to accept a Fellowship of CRANA‐Plus: the peak professional body for the remote and isolated health workforce of Australia, and is a Fellow of the Australia Rural Leadership Foundation.
Dr Davis holds a range of Directorship within government corporations, commercial companies and the not-for-profit sector.
