Visualizing Impermanence: The making of an exhibition

Visual, Digital, Material Research Group Seminar by Prof. Ton Otto

The exhibition ‘Museum of Impermanence’, shown at Moesgaard Museum 8 February – 19 May 2019, is the result of a research project involving old and new collections from Papua New Guinea, Tibet and Nepal. It asks the question how people in different places and with different traditions deal with the condition of impermanence in their lives. It also reflects on museum practices of conservation and exhibition and how these can help us address the challenge of impermanence.
