At the 2025 Northern Australia Food Futures Conference, held April 8–9 in Darwin, Professor Allan Dale, delivered his keynote address titled “Where to Next: Development in Northern Australia.” His presentation emphasized the necessity of integrated regional planning and collaborative governance to unlock the region's agricultural potential. Allan highlighted the importance of aligning infrastructure development, policy frameworks, and community engagement to foster sustainable growth in Northern Australia's agri-food sectors.
In addition to his keynote, Professor Dale chaired the Industry Roundtable Breakfast, an invitation-only event that convened key government and industry representatives. The roundtable facilitated open discussions on pressing challenges such as biosecurity resilience, infrastructure development, and investment barriers. Participants, including policymakers and industry leaders, collaborated to identify actionable strategies aimed at enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of Northern Australia's agricultural sector.
The conference, centered around the theme “Innovative Agribusiness in Northern Australia: Nurturing Natural Assets for Future Growth,” served as a pivotal platform for stakeholders to explore opportunities and forge partnerships. Allan’s contributions underscored the critical role of strategic leadership and cross-sector collaboration in shaping a resilient and prosperous future for agriculture in the region.
