The XV World Congress of Rural Sociology was originally planned for 2020. When the global pandemic halted all travel, plans were put in place to postpone the congress to 2022. With PM Morrison’s recent announcements of international borders being lifted on February 21, this has provided confidence to the international delegates to plan their travels to Australia. Australian convenors Distinguished Professor Stewart Lockie and Professor Geoffrey Lawrence welcomed the news and look forward to welcoming the IRSA2022 delegates to Cairns in July.
Keynotes are Professor Nora McKeon from Rome 3 University and the International University College of Turin, Professor Jun Borras from the International Institute of Social Studies The Hague and Associate Professor Monica White from University of Wisconsin-Madison (pictured above) who also wrote Freedom Farmers (pictured right)
The congress will be held at The Pullman Cairns International July 19-22. Registrations are open and the early bird rates are only on offer until March 31.
