Professor Bob Stevenson
Professor Bob Stevenson joined The Cairns Institute in 2010 as a Research Leader (Education for Sustainability) after an academic career based in the USA. Bob served as Head/Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy and Co-Director of the Graduate School of Education’s Collaborative Research Network at the University at Buffalo, New York. Prior to this, he taught high school mathematics and then became a K-12 curriculum and professional development specialist in environmental education in Education Queensland.
He is currently Director of the Centre for Research and Innovation in Sustainability Education at JCU. He was lead editor of Engaging Environmental Education: Learning, Culture and Agency (Sense, 2011) and the International Handbook of Research in Environmental Education (AERA/Routledge, 2013) and is Executive Editor of the Journal of Environmental Education (the oldest journal in the field).
