    Location of The Cairns Institute

The Cairns Institute is located at James Cook University’s Cairns Campus with outreach to other campuses.

The Federal government funded the construction of The Cairns Institute facility at the entrance to James Cook University’s Cairns campus. This state-of-the-art centre provides research, training and learning areas and laboratories as well as conference, exhibition and meeting spaces within a building designed to be an icon of sustainable tropical architecture.

    Parking at the Cairns Campus

Parking on campus is monitored on weekdays between 8am-4:30pm. Outside of these hours, visitors may park in any zone. Inside monitored hours, parking for visitors is allowed in the areas designated Permit, Free and Public. If you wish to park in a permit zone, parking can be paid on a casual basis either via the CelloPark app or a Pay-by-Plate Machine.

CellOPark is a free and easy to use app which allows users to set up their own account and pay for parking quickly and easily, eliminating the need to display paper tickets. Vehicle registration is recorded when you start a parking session.

Alternatively, casual parking fees can be paid using the Pay-by-Plate Machine located on campus.

Failure to activate a paid parking session may incur a parking infringement.
